The Atlantic Sentinel is a transatlantic news, analysis and commentary website, online since 2009 and dedicated to providing an intelligent and intellectual perspective on world politics, defense and foreign policy.
Advertising here is a good way to reach an educated and dedicated readership from both sides of the Atlantic. Half of our visitors are from the United States; about 10 percent is British. Remaining visitors are from Canada, India, Israel and different parts of Western Europe.
Readers of the Atlantic Sentinel are far more likely to have attended advanced education or graduate school than average Internet users. Males are greatly overrepresented as are people over the age of forty-five.

Home page advertisement
The best way to reach our readers is with a custom made advertisement on the home page of the website.
This option assumes the style of a link to a recent article and invites the visitor to learn more about your product. Ideally, it should lead the reader to a specific product page.
The appearance of this option should be designed in conjunction with the advertiser but must conform as closely as possible to the site layout.
This option can run no longer than a week and is purchased for twenty-four hour periods at €90 a day. Short advertising periods are highly recommended for this unit.
Individual page advertisement
If you want to reach the readers of a specific article or a number of articles about a specific topic, this option should be perfect for you. It replaces the thumbnail that is otherwise displayed in the upper right corner of the body of an article with your promotion
This unit is most effective if the advertised content is related to the article but all advertisers will be considered.
Graphics for this space should be 300 pixels wide and preferably 200 or 250 pixels in height.
On articles that have a thumbnail, this unit runs for one or two weeks at €25 a week. On (older) articles that do not have a thumbnail, this unit can run longer or indefinitely at either an agreed price or on a pay per view basis.
Related post link
This unit assumes the style of a “related post” link, three of which are normally displayed below the article content. It allows you to promote your product sitewide in a highly competitive fashion.
The related post link is displayed on all single article pages so it shouldn’t necessarily relate to the content of a specific article. The two links that are displayed alongside it however are uniquely generated to match the content of an individual post so your advertisement will appear to be no different.
A related post link advertisement that runs across all single article pages of the website is purchased for €20 a week and cannot run longer than two weeks consecutively. It should include a title and no more than four lines of text to align horizontally with the rest of the related posts feature.
Text link
A text link can be placed in the footer of the website. It is purchased for €10 a week or can run on a pay per view or a pay per click basis.
This is a simple and elegant advertising solution for campaigns on a budget that’s positioned in a part of the website that otherwise doesn’t contain a link. Readers aren’t familiar with seeing a text in the upper right corner of their screen and will be tempted to click it if it’s an inviting message that speaks to their interests.
Sidebar advertisement
The most traditional of advertising options is a graphic in the sidebar that is displayed across all pages of the website.
Because sidebar advertising is the most familiar to Internet users, it is the least competitive of our options. Both pay per view and pay per click ads will be considered as will promotions from all advertisers that might interest our readers.
Only graphics that are 300 pixels wide will be considered for this space.
The sidebar advertisement is also a smart option for advertisers that want to familiarize themselves with the Atlantic Sentinel and review the results of a campaign before committing themselves to a more expensive alternative. However, they should keep in mind that our other ad units are likely to be more effective because they are more closely integrated in the layout of the website.
