Blogs face an essential problem; the lack of ability to properly report on conditions "on the ground" so to speak. If you look at the blogosphere they typically still get their information from the major news sites. But since these are more and more simplifying the issue, proper reporting is slowly disappearing. While blogs may provide analyses, they cannot provide proper news on their own. And while tools such as twitter and youtube have proven essential in many cases, there is such an overload of information out there that fact checking becomes increasingly harder.
